Geographically Downtown Sarasota may be small but within beats the huge heart of an Arts and Culture Giant. Sarasota boasts a professional Opera, Symphony and Ballet. Theaters, Restaurants, Shops and Nightclubs abound and if you were to see a different Art Gallery every day it would take you over a month. There is also a Museum for everyone ranging from the incredible Ringling Museum with its sophisticated collection of Art to the Family Fun of the GWiz hands-on Science and Technology Center.

Sarasota has gone Hollywood. The Sarasota Film Festival returns for its 14th year of celebrating the art of filmmaking while providing engaging community programs. The Festival has affiliation with Cinemas in Lakewood Ranch and at Burns Court.  Many feature films have been shot in the area and the list is growing. You can also enjoy The Sarasota Jazz Festival that has been one of the best in the country for over 32 years. The Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall in all of its purple splendour features performances of everything from Pavarotti to Neil Sedaka.

If your pleasure runs toward nature you can enjoy the majestic Selby Gardens where you will find a plant collection numbering more than 20,000 greenhouse plants, plus thousands more in the outdoor gardens. Eight greenhouses include the stunning Tropical Conservatory where unusual flora can be seen year round. You also won’t want to miss the family friendly Jungle Gardens attraction where you can watch the pink flamingos and the performing birds

The waterfront is dominated by Marina Jacks 316 slip Marina. For a special treat have lunch in the second floor restaurant and enjoy theview of Downtown Sarasota and Sarasota Bay.
